Tim Drye – Chair After an initial career in academia, Tim founded DataTalk in 1996, his intention was to apply the developing statistical techniques to commercially relevant data and challenges. Since then he has remained independent and been engaged in a wide variety of sectors and applications. This has encompassed manufacturing, distribution, marketing, selling and service, and most particularly the insights that arise from the interactions at every stage with people, both employees, intermediaries and consumers, their own connections and motivations. Currently, Tim is developing Advanced Analytical solutions with the team at yellow Zebra.
Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter FRS OBE Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter FRS OBE is Chair of the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication in the Centre for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cambridge, which aims to improve the way that statistical evidence is used by health professionals, patients, lawyers and judges, media and policymakers. He has been very busy over the COVID crisis. He presented the BBC4 documentaries “Tails you Win: the Science of Chance”, the award-winning “Climate Change by Numbers”, and in 2011 came 7th in an episode of BBC1’s Winter Wipeout. His bestselling book, The Art of Statistics, was published in March 2019. He was knighted in 2014 for services to medical statistics, was President of the Royal Statistical Society (2017-2018) and became a Non-Executive Director of the UK Statistics Authority in 2020. Peter Jackson – Carruthers & Jackson Peter is Group Director, Data Sciences at Legal and General. Previously Peter was Chief Data Officer at Southern Water and prior to that Head of Data at The Pensions Regulator (TPR). Before joining TPR Peter spent 17 years providing data strategy consultancy across the not for profit sector, financial services and FMCG, working with large multi-national organisations and blue chip brands. Peter is a specialist in Data Strategy, Data Technologies, Master Data Management Strategies, Data Governance Frameworks, GDPR and Data Science. Peter is the co-author of ‘The Chief Data Officer’s Playbook’ published by Facet November 2017, ‘Data-Driven Business Transformation’ published in March 2019 by Wiley and 2nd edition ‘The Chief Data Officers Playbook’ published 2020. Peter is an international speaker on Data, Innovation and business transformation and c0-founded the Chief Data Officers’ Summer School which has an international alumni of 1000+.
